“Prime Minister Hon Roosevelt Skerrit has arrived at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport for the inaugural Agri- Investment Forum and Expo being held in Georgetown, Guyana from May 19-21,” informed the government of Dominica through social media.

The forum will explore issues relating to an investment in agriculture and food production. The forum is hosted by the Government of Guyana and the CARICOM Secretariat and will be held under the theme “Investing in Vision 25 by 2025.”

Participants will address issues linked to investment in agriculture and food production, including cross-border investment, climate-smart agriculture and related infrastructural development.

The meeting is timely for Dominica as we intensify efforts locally to build stronger value chain relationships, promote food security and achieve sustainable growth in the agriculture sector.

Ian Douglas, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business and Export Development; Fidel Grant, Minister of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture and National Food Security; and Hillary Shillingford of Salisbury and Deles Warrington of Calibishie, commercial farmers, has been accompanying PM Skerrit to the meeting.
