Trinidad and Tobago all set to celebrate World Steelpan Festival, celebrating National Instrument

Trinidad and Tobago: The Tourism authority of Trinidad and Tobago is all set to celebrate World Steelpan Festival 2024 to experience the vibrant journey of steelpan. The festival will be celebrated in the island nation from 5th August and will continue till 11th August 2024.
The World Steelpan Festival is a commemoration of the strength and resilience as a people and a nation, which take place through a series of vibrant events in Trinidad. This historic festival features mesmerizing performances, engaging workshops and dynamic cultural exchanges. This festival is also a great opportunity for all the attendees to discover the steelpan’s versatility and evolution in contemporary music while honouring its rich heritage and worldwide impact.
As per the schedule of activities and events, the tourism authority will held Art Exhibition Series: Gallery Hop Edition from 5th – 10th August 2024. These steelpan editions of Gallery Hop will include Rotunda Art Gallery, Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Castle Killarney and the Carnival Museum at Queen’s Park Savannah.
It will be followed by World Steelpan Conference: From Roots to recognition – Steelpan’s journey to global acclaim which will be conducted on 9th August 2024. The World Steelpan Conference will include discussions on financing sustainability of the national instrument with support of MITTCO and Panland. The conference will be held at Hyatt Regency Trinidad from 9 am to 4 pm.
On 10th August 2024, two events will be conducted i.e. Pan Yard Jams which will take in the sweet sounds of pan taking place in the northern, eastern and central/southern regions of Trinidad. Along with that, Legacies and Legends: National Steel Symphony Orchestra of Trinidad and Tobago Cricket will offer National Steel Symphony Orchestra of Trinidad and Tobago at the renowned National Academy for the Performing Arts to all the attendees.
In the final day, Trinidad will celebrate World Steelpan Day festivities with a pre-celebration, unfolding at the birthplace of the steelpan, Piccadilly Street in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, continuing to the celebrations held at Woodford Square.
