PM Skerrit and Melissa Skerrit celebrates 11 years of togetherness

Today marks a very special day as the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Roosevelt Skerrit and his wife and the Housing Minister of Dominica – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit are celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2024. Both the ministers got married on May 11, 2013.

Roseau, Dominica: Today marks a very special day as the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit and his wife, the Housing Minister of Dominica, Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on May 11, 2024. Both the ministers got married on May 11, 2013.

Melissa Skerrit, the Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency, expressed her love by sharing a heartfelt message, “Admit it… Life would be so boring without me. Happy Anniversary my love.”

PM Skerrit and Melissa Skerrit exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at Bourne Roman Catholic Chapel, which was followed by the reception party. The party was attended by close family and friends at the Prime Minister’s home in Vieille Case. The couple has been blessed with two kids, a son and a daughter and has built a beautiful family together.

PM Skerrit has always appreciated the stability Melissa brought in his life; stating that she has always supported him in all phases being the light of his life. PM goes on to say, “Melissa has been a confidante — and most importantly she has been my rock. She inspires all of us with her love, care, advice and positivity — and we will be forever grateful. She is indeed THE light.”

PM Skerrit usually addresses Melissa as “amazing wife”, as he considers her as his confidant. He also shared, that she is a blessing to his family and all of them dearly loves her. “You are a delight and blessing to our children and to me, and we love you dearly”, PM Skerrit stated while emphasizing on Mellisa’s importance in family.

As they celebrate their 11 years of togetherness, the couple have set an example by serving the people of Dominica as their priority and have stood with each other and the nation as strong pillars. Both have shown commitment to the Dominicans as well as their family.

Recently, PM Skerrit and Melissa Skerrit were seen at Jazz N Arts with their son and daughter. Both the leaders greeted the citizens, having conversations with them, clicking pictures and exploring the stalls.

On this joyous occasion, Dominicans have showered PM Skerrit and Minister Melissa with their love and blessings by sharing their pictures and commenting on social media.
