Star Malt Secondary Schools Football Tournament Final to be held on November 24th

Mac Donald College and Boca Secondary School are all set to face each other in the final of the Star Malt Secondary Schools Football Tournament on Friday, 24th November 2023, at the Queens Playing Field.

Mac Donald College and Boca Secondary School are all set to face each other in the final of the Star Malt Secondary Schools Football Tournament on Friday, 24th November 2023, at the Queens Playing Field.

Star Malt Secondary Schools Football Tournament is organized by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Grenada. This competition has reached its final stage now.

On Monday, 20th November, the semi-finals of the Star Malt Secondary Schools Football Tournament were conducted. 

Two matches were played on that day; the first match was conducted between Mac Donald College and Happy Hill Secondary School at the Fond Playing Field. The match was won by Mac Donald College.

The goal scorer from Mac Donald College:

– Rahim Raeburn scored 1 goal for his team.

Moreover, no player from Happy Hill Secondary School was able to convert their chance.

Therefore, Mac Donald College defeated Happy Hill Secondary School with a score of 1-0.

The second semi-final was conducted between Boca Secondary School and St. John’s Christian Secondary School at Tempe Playing Field. Boca Secondary School won the match by four goals.

The players who scored goals for Boca Secondary School:

– Deondre Smith, who scored just one goal

– Daniel Mitchell contributed three goals to his team’s victory.

No player from St. John’s Christian Secondary School was able to score a goal for his team, which is why the team lost by four goals to Boca Secondary School.

Moreover, the quarter-finals of this competition were held on Wednesday, 15th November 2023.

Four matches were played at four different places on 15th November to qualify for the semi-finals.

The first match was played between Grenada SDA Comprehensive School and Happy Hill Secondary School at Plains Playing Field.

St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School competed against St. John’s Christian Secondary School at Progress Park.

Mac Donald College faced St David’s Catholic Secondary School at Fond Playing Field.

Boca Secondary School played against Grenada Boys Secondary School to reach the semi-finals at Tempe Playing Field.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ category of the Star Malt Secondary Schools Football Tournament, St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School and St. Joseph’s Grenville will face each other in the final.

Two matches were held on Friday, 17th November 2023, at the Progress Park.

The first match was between SJC (Grenville) and Mac Donald College and the other match was played between St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School and SMSS.

Thus, it would be very interesting to watch who will win the Star Malt Secondary School Football Tournament.
