During the raid, the officers found 146 pieces of crack cocaine, which was later weighed by them and on weighing it amounted to 12.5 grams. Notably, the value of cocaine found from Ricketts is estimated to be $36,000.

Therefore, Ricketts has been accused of trafficking and dealing in crack cocaine in the streets of Annotto Bay and to the drug addicts of the nearby areas.

As per the details, Ricketts is booked to appear in the St Mary Parish Court on 21st May 2024 and to answer all the questions of the magistrate for the offence of possessing and selling crack cocaine.

Several community residents took to their social media accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the news. One person with a Facebook account Alexander-Asif DeMarquis commented “Keep her arrested until she decides to say who it really belongs to.”

Another person commented the following “Daily crimes have become a serious concern, actions need to be taken, I don’t understand how people are getting the guts to do all this openly without any fear of authorities and punishment, it is so shameful, feels disgust to be a part of such area.”

The residents have demanded the authorities start implementing serious measures as it is getting unsafe for them to live peacefully in the country. The administration has also stated that they are making plans and policies in order to reduce the consumption of drugs in the nation and make it a drug-free country.
