During the conference, the Minister highlighted about the enhanced relations between India and St Kitts and Nevis. He also shed light on the increasing interest of the India businesses in investing in the Federation.
He remarked that the people of India are excited to do business with St Kitts and Nevis and by introducing an international Indian brand to the Federation would play a huge role in attracting high-net-worth travellers from India.
Minister Denzil Douglas continued by stating that this project would result in enhancing several sectors of the country, collectively contributing to the improvement in the economic conditions of the nation.
He stated that the project is anticipated to boost the tourism sector of the country by increasing the number of available rooms and offering a wide variety of accommodations for the visitors. While shedding light on stimulating the local economy, Minister Douglas asserted that this project would play a huge role in creating thousands of job opportunities and bridging the gap of unemployment.
Moreover, Minister Denzil Douglas highlighted about the challenges faced by the hotel industry of St Kitts and Nevis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that though the current occupancy rates may not meet their expectations, it should not deter their efforts to attract high-end branded hotels to the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
Also, recently, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas recently made his visit to India and met with the External Affairs Minister of India, Dr S. Jaishankar. Both the delegates exchanged significant dialogues focussing on the development of both the nations.
