St Kitts and Nevis: Team of rising stars set to compete in Paris Olympics 2024

With the Paris Olympics to incept by the end of this month, the St Kitts Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) has unveiled Team SKN with pride, the team to represent the nation and showcase the Federation’s finesse on the big stage.
Troy Nisbett, a 15-year-old swimming sensation, will be leading the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Team. Nisbett although competed at the World Championships at Doha in February 2024 but will make it into the history being the first ever aquatic competitor to represent the nation on the bigger and global stage.
Regardless of missing the qualification standards with a fine line, the 15-year-old youngster made it to the team via a universality spot, thus marking it as a milestone in his career and did put up an image of the rapidly improving Caribbean swimming circuit.
Accompanying Nisbett will be the reigning National Men’s 100-meter Champion, Naquille Harris, a standout sprinter from the University of Cincinnati. Harris being only 22 years old, triumphed the Olympic trials with remarkable performance, being recognized in collegiate athletics.
Harris after winning the Olympic trails in June, has been continuing his training program in the United States. He earned an ACC All-Conference recognition having finished the 60-meter dash in a record time of 6.70.
Zahria Allers-Liburd, the third and rounding of member of the team, is an attendant of the University of South Florida. She is the reigning Women’s 100-meter champion of St Kitts and Nevis. Conquering the Olympic qualifiers with an impressive performance, she called 2024 to be her “best year ever.”
This being her prime season, underscored by her personal bests and a dominating performance in the national qualifiers, presents her as a top and prominent contender in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
Competing in universality spots, allocated to the National Olympic Committees to make sure of their global representation in the Olympic games, this journey of the mentioned trio will not only add up to their personal achievements but also entitle the Federation’s commitment and initiatives to nurture athletic excellence on an international platform like the Olympic Games.
