Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association, on March 29, 2023, informed about the ‘2023 FIRST Global Challenge Announcement Video’. While announcing the Event 2023 and informing the general public, it mentioned, “We’re excited to announce the 2023 FIRST Global Challenge in Singapore from 7-10 October, supported by title sponsor Lam Research!”

Additionally, it mentioned that it is known as the “city in a garden,” Singapore is at the forefront of sustainability initiatives, making them a great choice for this year’s theme – renewable energy.

St Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association has further informed about Singapore. It outlined that Singapore is a small nation-state known for its diverse mix of cultures, and food scene and is among the most densely populated places in the world, but did you know it’s also on the front when it comes to technology? Singapore was ranked the 6th most innovative city in the world. With a focus on investing in science, technology, and sustainability, you can find the innovation-forward Gardens by the Bay with a solar-powered conservatory, Singapore’s extremely efficient transit system, and even the world’s first commercial vertical farm.

In addition to this, it stated for the volunteers. “We will be recruiting volunteers for the event and the Global STEM Corps for the 2023 season! You can register your interest via this form to get specific updates and information on each of these programs,” the social media update by the association read.

Who can be a volunteer?
Anyone can become a volunteer for this event, as long as you are 18 years of age or older! No prior volunteer experience is required for most positions. There will be a variety of technical and non-technical positions available. If you have questions, please contact through email to volunteer@first.global. We are compiling a list now of potential volunteers and will appreciate your interest as we move forward.

Who can join the Global STEM Corps?
The GSC connects Advisor Teams composed of student robotics teams, university students, or groups of professional engineers with our national teams. Languages (especially Arabic, French, Portuguese, and Spanish) are always a huge asset. Individuals are encouraged to find 2-3 others to form a team.
