St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew, has informed about the rectification of the water issue in St Peters. As of morning of October 5, 2022 (Wednesday), 80 percent of the community would have received water, but due to an air blockage (air in the pipes) preventing the flow of water it will take time to fully reach all the homes.
Prime Minister further reassured the entire community of St Peters that the Water Department under the leadership of the Permanent Secretary Darryl Lloyd and the Water Engineer, Cromwell Williams have been working vigorously over the past four (4) days to resolve the issue.
“I am grateful to the team at the Water Department for the excellent work they have been doing. They have been working assiduously since Saturday repairing the pump and now the matter has been resolved,” he said while expressing gratitude towards the workers who have been working day and night to resolve the issue and provide proper access of water to the general public.
“We are committed to resolving the water situation not just in St Peters but throughout the whole of St Kitts and Nevis,” he added.
Prime Minister assured that the government will continue to monitor the situation closely.
The work and commitment of the government was praised by the general public. One of the persons stated, “What a wonderful Government. Constantly updating the public on problems being addressed in a timely manner.” While another highlighted, “Glad to hear. Working for the people.” The third mentioned, “Great. Thanks for the update.”
