Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of the twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis and the Minister of Health – Dr Terrance Drew, recently paid an official visit to Joseph N France General Hospital. During the visit, the major focus of PM Drew-led delegation was at the Ophthalmic Unit, where new equipment was established. PM Dr Drew visited the medical care centre on March 27, 2023 (Monday).
The government of St Kitts and Nevis informed about the visit and mentioned, “Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, visited the Ophthalmic Unit at the Joseph N France General Hospital today (Monday, March 27, 2023) where he inspected several new pieces of equipment that were procured by the Government.”
PM Terrance Drew also took to social media to share this information with Kittitians and Nevisians. While stating about new equipment – microscope and scanner, the minister of health noted, “The Ophthalmic Unit at the Joseph N. France General Hospital is now outfitted with a new microscope and scanner that were needed for conducting certain surgical procedures.”
Prime Minister stated, “Greetings; when the St Kitts Nevis Labour Party took office in August 2022, we found out that certain critical equipment was needed. The microscope was not present to perform specific types of eye surgeries such as cataract surgeries.”
In addition to this, he also said, “As Minister of Health, I quickly sanctioned the purchase of all the necessary equipment costing hundreds of thousands. I am grateful to the team within the Ministry of Health for their dedication towards the transformation of healthcare within our Federation.”
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has worked tremendously for the welfare of the people of St Kitts and Nevis, and pointing out the same, and he mentioned, “The health and welfare of the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis are of critical importance. We will once again start to save and restore the vision of our people.”
