St Kitts and Nevis: DPM Geoffrey Hanley congratulates CFBC students for outstanding performance in debate contest
Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Geoffrey Hanley, congratulated the team from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), who represented the nation at the 51st Leeward Islands Debating Competition.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis and Minister of Education, Youth, Social Development, Gender Affairs, Aging and Disabilities – Dr Geoffrey Hanley, congratulated the team of St Kitts from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), who represented the nation at the 51st Leeward Islands Debating Competition. The event was organised in the neighbouring country – Antigua.
“Our students never cease to amaze me. This weekend, we are once again proud and delighted to congratulate our team of debtors from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) who represented St Kitts at the 51st Leeward Islands Debating Competition in Antigua,” read the social media post, updated on March 6, 2023.
He proudly claimed that the team of St Kitts and Nevis was declared as winners after it defeated the Antiguan team. Furthermore, he congratulated the team of St Maarten for winning the final round against the team of St Kitts.
In addition to this, Dr Hanley mentioned, “On Saturday night, we were victorious where we defeated Antigua 640 to 580 and last night we say congratulations to St. Maarten who came out victorious with 690 points and our team totalled 627 points.”
Deputy Prime Minister Hanley also took a moment and congratulated the participants of St Kitts, who were practising days and nights and tried their best to win the contest. He stated that he and the people of the twin-island federation thank and congratulate them for their outstanding performance and are super proud of all six (6) contestants.

Earlier, Prime Minister of the federation, Dr Terrance Drew, also congratulated the contestants for their participation and winning in the first round of the Leeward Islands Debate competition. “Congratulations are in order for Team St Kitts and Nevis, represented by the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), and winning the first round of the Leeward Islands Debate competition in Antigua. Congrats to the team!” the Prime Minister stated.
