Saint Lucia: Know the result of Group A of Prime Minister’s Independence T20 Cup
Saint Lucia commenced the Prime Minister’s Independence T20 Cup on Saturday, 3rd February, 2024. This cup is a part of the 45th anniversary of the country’s Independence.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia commenced the Prime Minister’s Independence T20 Cup on Saturday, 3rd February, 2024. This cup is a part of the 45th anniversary of the country’s Independence. The matches are scheduled to take place from 3rd to 25th February 2024 at various playing fields.
It is to be noted that six matches were played in total, divided into three categories, A, B and C, respectively, on Saturday. The first game from Group A was played between Central Castries and South Castries at Gros Islet playing field. The game began at 10:00 am. Central Castries won the match as they scored 192 runs and defeated the latter by 76 runs.
The next game of Group A was conducted between Gros Islet and Babbonneau at 2:00 pm. The game was played at the same venue. Gros Islet scored 228 for 6 and defeated Babonneau by 90 runs. Jard Goodman of Gros Islet hit a century in 95 minutes, with 9 fours and 8 sixes and became the star player of the match.
Moreover, the following day, both the teams of Group A, Central Castries and Gros Islet again won their second match. The game was played at Gros Islet Playing Field. Notably, Central Castries won against Babonneau by 7 wickets, while Gros Islet had a convincing win over South Castries by 107 runs.
Furthermore, two games from Group B were played on Saturday. The first match was conducted between Mon Repos and Micoud at 10:00 am at Wenn Playing Field. The second match of the day from Group B was played between Mabouya and Desruisseaux at 2:00 pm at the same venue.
From Group C, Vieux Fort South faced Soufriere at 10:00 am at Piaye Playing Field on the starting day of the Prime Minister’s Independence T20 Cup. The second game of the day was conducted between Choiseful and Vieux Fort North at 2:00 pm at Piaye Playing Field.
Notably, this year, the 45th anniversary of Independence is being celebrated under the theme “Douvan Ansanm; Building a nation through Unity, Resilience and Creativity.”
The residents of Saint Lucia have extended congratulations to the winners of the game and have expressed their excitement about attending the upcoming games.
