Prez Ali acknowledges PM Mottley for sharing COVID-19 vaccines

Guyana: On the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines from Barbados, the President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, acknowledged the generosity of Prime Minister Mia Mottley on February 10, 2021.
President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali wrote, he is pleased to declare the arrival of the first batch of coronavirus vaccines, of which 100 doses will go to the CARICOM Secretariat and the rest 1400 doses will go exclusively to our frontline hospital workers.
President Ali added, “I wish to acknowledge Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and, by extension, the residents of Barbados for sharing with us from their first shipment of vaccines.”
Furthermore, he stated, This act of generosity is among many in recent months that Guyana and Barbados have yielded.
President Irfaan Ali stated that, In the coming dates and weeks, we would be in acceptance of various tranches of immunoglobins.
President Ali added, “I assure Guyanese that this issue is the top preference on our agenda and our purpose is to guarantee that every Guyanese is vaccinated before the end of the year.”
President Ali tells the World Sustainable Development summit that reaffirms common values to address existing global challenges.
On the other hand, His Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali yesterday called for more collaborative and collective global efforts to help nations secure a better future for their people and the planet.
In his passionate address at the 20th edition of the World Sustainable Development Summit, the Guyanese President pointed out that the world is ever-evolving and that concerted actions should be taken to face the existing challenges.
“The time has arrived for us to redefine our common future, to reaffirm our common values, to address the extant global challenges we face, and to work together to create a better future for our people and planet.”
