Trinidad and Tobago: Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago – Dr Keith Rowley has isolated himself after coming in contact with a COVID-19 positive individual.
The officials have noted that another test would be conducted next week only to know Prime Minister’s status after he tested negative in his first COVID-19 test.
Although, the Prime Minister has been fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 Sinopharm vaccine, he was earlier contracted with the contagious virus in the month of April this year only.
People over the post are sending get well soon wishes to the Prime Minister and even some are worried about theirselves.
One of the resident named as – Jolina Maharaj cited that, “My esteemed Prime Minister..Dr. Rowley..get well soon! Thank you for leading by example & for the love that you show to us the citizens of this country.”
As per to the COVID-19 statistics shared by Trinidad and Tobago’s Health Ministry, Trinidad and Tobago island reported 123 new positive cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 19 September 2021, according to the report of the Health Ministry. With the arrival of these cases, the active number of coronavirus infections rise to 4,048.
In comparison, a total of 43,059 individuals have been recovered from the deadly COVID-19 virus.
In total, around 280 people are in the hospital. The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago further informed in the report that a total of 3 new deaths have been recorded, taking the total death rate to 1,416 on the Caribbean island as of 19 September 2021.
As per to the report, there are a total of 60 patients in the step-down facilities, about 150 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 3,585 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes following the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T.
