PM Holness pays tribute to late Luton Shelton

Jamaica: Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness pays his deepest condolences to Reggae Boyz player Luton Shelton.
PM Holness wrote, “My heart goes out to the family, friends, and fans of former Reggae Boyz player Luton Shelton. Shelton passed away earlier today.”
Furthermore, he added, Shelton bravely battled, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, since 2017. He died at age 35.
Later PM told about his story that has been an inspiration to us all. Luton began his football career in the Harbour View Youth Club. He made 75 appearances for the Reggae Boyz between 2004 and 2013 and scored 35 goals in the process. That goal count stands today as a record for national men’s football.
PM added, “I express my deep condolences to Mrs. Shelton, his children, and the rest of his family. My love and wishes are with his family during this difficult time.”
A Facebook user commented, “Rip my youth all we have to do just serve God and live right never know when our time will end; my condolences to the family and friends; may God-given the family the strength they all needed.”
Another resident of Jamaica commented, “My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family, colleague, and friends. My wishes and love are with you all in this time of grief.”
Another Facebook user commented, “I want to share my condolence to the family of Shelton unto his wife be healthy for your kid’s mom it is not easy, but I believe you are a strong mom to brace the family I no the Lord will send his angels to form their wings around your family be healthy, Rip Shelton, we miss you.”
Another Jamaican resident wrote, “Condolences to my cuz Diana, Mrs. Shelton and the kids’ cuz I can relate to your pain but not your feelings, as a child of God I know you under the works of our God, he says lay your York upon me, and I’ll give you rest(Luton sleep on in sweet rest)until. That day God’s call us all homestay strong family’s.”
