St George’s, Grenada – Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, and Member of Parliament for St David is more than pleased to announce the grand opening of the Vincennes Community Centre on Thursday, July 25th, 2024.
This significant achievement marks a turning point in that, as it brings into a place to foster social interaction, education, and community engagement. The Vincennes Community Centre is set to emerge as the hub of community life, offering a great mix of activities and programs meant to enrich the lives of residents.
In attendance to make speeches during the opening ceremony will be Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, member of parliament for St David, and special invited guests, with forthcoming initiatives to emphasize at building power and unity in the community.
Residents are invited to be part of this very important development which heralds a new era in the development of their communities.

The centre represents the fourth one to be completed within the last two years under the stewardship of PM Mitchell. Old Westerhall is next in line. Other community centres that have been completed within the parish of St David include Belle Isle, Berrotte, and Corinth.
“These are community projects that indicate our shared vision for transformation of St David,” the Prime Minister said. “The idea is that we will renovate or rebuild community centres right across the parish so that people have a place in the community where they can socialise and host community meetings and access education and recreational activity,” he added.
The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude and thankfulness to the community members for embracing this project; generous donors; and all the stakeholders who continue to make St David a success. The former will find support in that ideal of achieving spaces for the blossoming of community spirit.
With the opening of the Vincennes Community Centre, much more than a building symbolizes commitment to building stronger, better-linked communities. Certainly, this centre will be a new landmark of hope and unity for the people of St David.
