St Lucia: Prime Minister of St Lucia-Allen Chastanet received his second dose of Oxford Astra Zeneca on 26 April 2021.
Allen Chastanet stated, “Earlier today(yesterday), I took my second dose of the Oxford Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine.”
Furthermore, PM added, “He will forever remain obliged to all our Frontliners who recommence to lead the charge in this long and tedious fight. Our St Lucia will always be indebted to you(people) for your daily sacrifices.”
“As you may be aware, many nations comprehensive are currently encountering new waves of the coronavirus. Getting immunized continues to be one of the best safeguards against this coronavirus pandemic and getting our (St Lucians) lives back to the remarkable level of normalcy,” he added.
After seeing this post of PM, people reacted, and one of the residents commented, “Front liners need better benefits packages, esp. for this Covid-19 crisis. E.g. At-risk benefits… How are our families covered? The staffing is so short the same frontlines are being used repeatedly to accomplish tasks such as this one. Front liners are mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers…etc. we are human beings.. we. all get the point.”
Another resident stated, “When will the protocol change for persons coming in who are fully vaccinated? I am a frontline worker, fully vaccinated, and I test every week; I quarantined for 14 days in December when I came home. The other islands are already implementing the change of 48 hrs quarantine once fully vaccinated and come with a negative test 72 hours before travel; when will St. Lucia follow.”
Talking about the cases in the nation, The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 from the Ezra Long Laboratory yesterday (Monday, April 26, 2021). This is from 89 specimens taken on April 23, 2021, & April 24, 2021.
As of April 23, 2021 23 April, 941 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 392 individuals have received the second dose. Today, Tuesday, April 27, 2021, the health organization will administer the COVID-19 vaccine at the -Philip Marcellin Grounds, Daren Sammy Cricket Grounds,-Grande Riviere Human Resource Jacmel Wellness Centre & the Ti-Rocher Micoud Wellness Centre. This COVID-19 immunization drive will provide individuals taking the second dose of the vaccine and those in Phase Two of the COVID-19 immunization campaign.
