War between rival gangs at bar in Jamaica, kills one

The war between the rival gangs of Jamaica resulted in death of one individual and the other victim faced severe injuries and is hospitalized.

Kingston, Jamaica: An ongoing war between the rival gangs resulted in the death of a man and injuries to another. The incident is reported to have taken place at a bar on Glen Drive in Cassava Piece, Kingston 8, Monday. The suspect is on the run and the officers are striving hard in order to catch him. 

The deceased man has been identified as 33-year-old Alfeno Ledgister alias ‘Reds’, a resident of Manor View Drive and the name and identity of the other injured victim have not been revealed yet by the officers. 

As per the reports shared by the authorities, both the victims were inside the bar when two assailants, both armed with handguns stepped off from a grey Subaru motorcar. Subsequently, the assailant entered the bar and fired inside it. 

The suspect hit Alfeno Ledgister in his head and he hit the injured man in the mid-section of his body. Following the discovery of the incident, the authorities were informed about the matter and they immediately responded to it by visiting the crime. 

As soon as the officers reached there, they found Ledgister sitting on a chair and suffering from the injuries created due to gunshot wounds. Meanwhile, the other man was suffering from the injuries created in his chest and abdomen due to the gunshot. 

 Both the victims were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital and doctors on duty examined both of them thoroughly and pronounced Ledgister as dead and the other injured man is hospitalized and is undergoing medical treatment. 

As per the reports, the gunmen ran towards Mannings Hill Road in the Subaru motorcar and are still on the run. The authorities have promised that they will try their best in order to get the culprit punished for the offence he committed. 

Several residents of the community took to their official Facebook accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the incident. One person with a Facebook handle Gayel Lorac commented “Desolation across Jamaica. The land will lay barren and silent. What is happening to Jamaica land we love.”

Another person commented the following “The island nation is not at all safe with so much increase in crime activity, officers need to take some action.”
