Vince Henderson sworn in as Planning and Economic Minister of Dominica
Dr Vince Henderson, the Member of Parliament for the Grand Bay Constituency, was sworn in as the new Minister for Planning, Economic Development, Climate Resilience, Sustainable Development, and Renewable Energy on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Rosseau, Dominica: Dr Vince Henderson, the Member of Parliament for the Grand Bay Constituency, was sworn in as the new Minister for Planning, Economic Development, Climate Resilience, Sustainable Development, and Renewable Energy on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
The ceremony took place at the State House, where President of Dominica – Charles Savarin governed the oath and congratulated Henderson for his appointment while expressing his confidence over Ministers’ ability.
The President stated, “First of all, let me congratulate you on your election in Grand Bay…and on your appointment as a Minister of Government. I have no doubt having served with you in the Cabinet as a Minister, and I have no doubt that the Cabinet, the people of Grand Bay, and the people of Dominica will, in fact, be well and truly served by you in your capacity. So congratulations, Vince”.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also congratulated the Minister via his Facebook post, citing, I look forward to serving as a member of Cabinet, and I hope that I can make a contribution that will help and will advance the cause of the people of the Grand Bay Constituency and Dominica as a whole. I have had the opportunity to serve before in several capacities, and I embrace the opportunity to serve in this new portfolio”.
Meanwhile, Dr Henderson expressed his gratitude over getting appointed as the Planning and Economic Minister, noting that he is looking forward to serve as a Cabinet member and providing his contribution to the development of the nation.
Following the statement, the Minister stated, “This gives me the opportunity to bring to bear the experience as well as the training that I have had in matters pertaining to my portfolio and in particular renewable energy as this has been my work over the past decade and perhaps one could even say beyond that”.
He then added, saying that he will work on the policies which have been already designed by PM Skerrit with the motive to build Dominica as the first climate-resilient island nation in the world.
