Three more hostages have been released by the Haitian gang from the 17 kidnapped US and Canadian missionaries, informed the American Christian charity on Monday.

The missionaries were kidnapped in the month of October. Earlier in the month of November, the Haitian gang released two hostages.

Christian Aid Ministries, in their statement, while giving the information, cited that the hostages released are safe & seem to be in good spirits. However, the organization did not reveal the identities of released missionaries.

We would like to focus the next three days on praying and fasting for the hostages. The group continued, “We long for all the hostages to be reunited with their loved ones. Thank you for your prayer support,” the organization further cited.

The US and Canadian missionaries, which also includes children, were abducted by the 400 Mawozo Haitian gang from the capital city of the island.

The gang initially demanded a ransom amount of US $ 17 million in return to release the missionaries. While soon after weeks, the gang leader came in front of the camera and threatened to kill the hostages if they did not receive the amount.

It is not being informed whether the organization has paid the ransom amount of these five released hostages to the gang or not.

Nobody knows the reason behind the release of these individuals, as the organization refused to share any detail and information.

Kidnappings, gang violence and murders are very common in the island country, following which travellers fear visiting Haiti. The condition is so worst on the island that to get a livelihood and save themselves from getting murdered, Haitians are migrating to the United States and other neighbouring states in the region.

A week back, Berto Dorcé was sworn in as the new Justice Minister of Haiti, who pledged to serve the general public with honesty, adding that it’s the duty of the Haitian government to provide its citizens with a safe and secure environment.
