Trinidad and Tobago Weather Update: Partial clouds and showers for remaining week

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, along with the nearby, region will receive partial cloudy weather with light to moderate showers, as per the weather update shared by the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Department.

The Department shared the detailed weather condition for the remaining week (from Thursday to Monday). As per the Meteorological Department, the weather condition will remain as follows:

🔹Thursday, 03rd August, 2023
With the approach and passage of the axis of a tropical wave across the Lesser Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago is expected to see partly cloudy periods, interrupting fair spells, with light or moderate showers in varying areas.
⛈There is a low to medium chance (20% – 40%) for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop, favouring late morning to afternoon.
🌙Conditions may become mostly fair during the evening and night.
🌬Winds from the south-southeast to southeast.

🔹Friday, 04th August, 2023
Some low level convergence across Trinidad and Tobago is likely to produce some partly cloudy to cloudy periods from early morning with light to moderate showers in varying areas.
⛈There is a medium chance (40% – 60%) for heavy showers or isolated thunderstorm development, mainly from late morning to afternoon.
🌙Settled conditions during the evening and night.
🌬Winds from the south-southeast to southeast.

🔹Saturday, 05th August, 2023
While most of the weather, with the passage of the axis of a tropical wave, is expected to occur to the north of the Lesser Antilles, some associated low level convergence is likely over Trinidad and Tobago. Pre-dawn, partly cloudy patches, can produce a few light to moderate showers, favouring eastern Trinidad and western Tobago, with the
⛈Low chance (30%) for a heavy shower. Among fair periods, local heating and dynamics can assist to produce isolated thunderstorms chance (40% – 60%), favouring western Trinidad and hilly areas.

🔹Sunday, 06th August, 2023
Low level convergence associated with the ITCZ is likely to produce some early morning partly cloudy to cloudy periods, with a low chance (30%) for a heavy shower. Generally fair day but with a
⛈Medium chance (40% – 60%) for an isolated afternoon heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop, favouring western Trinidad and hilly areas.
🌙Mostly fair evening and night.
🌬Winds from the east to east-southeast.

It further expressed that in the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, winds can become gusty and street or flash flooding is likely in the vicinity. With the occurrence of prolonged precipitation, the risk of land slips or landslides becomes elevated.

The Meteorological Department mentioned that Saharan dust: Mostly mild occasionally moderate Saharan dust concentration in the atmosphere is expected for the rest of this week.
