Trinidad and Tobago bags 10th position on Commonwealth Games Tally with a gold

Commonwealth: Trinidad and Tobago’s Nicholas Paul has clinched a gold medal in Cycling – Track and Para Track Event on July 30, 2022. This gold medal has taken Trinidad and Tobago to the Commonwealth Games Tally. Currently, the team is only Caribbean country on the tally.

Trinidad and Tobago ranks 10th on the tally of the games.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley praised the athlete and extended heartiest congratulation, on the behalf of government and people of the country. He stated, “CONGRATULATIONS to Nicholas Paul Gold at the Commonwealth Games. He destroyed the field.”

Furthermore, he congratulated Kwesi Browne for entering into finals of Road Cycling Events. “Heartfelt congratulations to Kwesi Browne for making the finals as well,” he said.

On the Commonwealth Games 2022 tally, the first position is held by Australia with 34 medals (13 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze), followed by England and New Zealand with 25 (8 gold, 13 silver and 4 bronze) and 13 (7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze) medals respectively. The fourth position is held by Canada with 12 medals, out of which 3 are gold, 3 are silver and 6 are bronze medals.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, is currently taking place in Birmingham, England, from 28 July to 8 August 2022.
