Trinidad and Tobago: $4M cashless CNG station, marks step towards advancement

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, expressed his delight as the country received its first public CNG station, a $4 million cashless establishment. 

Minister Young filled with joy and excitement as it is best of its kind in the country. This move of the government underscores the importance of the energy sector in Trinidad and Tobago. 

“If there is one thing that you take away here today, of all the things happening in Tobago…. Is to understand the importance of the energy sector and the NGC group of companies and us having a future”, added the Minister of Energy. 

Moreover, to enhance the CNG station, the country is planning to launch a campaign for the motorists in the nation. They will offer free conversion of the services to motorists and encourage them to switch to CNG.

The services of the CNG stations will be officially started in the forthcoming weeks after getting the station’s license. The Minister of Energy, Young stated that the government is working tirelessly to enhance the gas production. 

They focus on maintaining the significance of the NGC in securing and safeguarding for the generations to come. 

“The importance of NGC for protecting future generations and what needs to be done in the important gas sector. It is critical for us in Trinidad and Tobago to stand up with the NGC group and our gas suppliers and promote gas. That is what the prime Minister and I have been doing globally, and the conversation has borne fruit,” added Young. 

Additionally, the cashless services marked a step towards the advancement and the overall development of the country. Such efforts by the government prove its capability and commitment to the growth of Tobago. 

Moreover, Energy Minister Young expressed his concern that since 2015, there has been a lack of understanding and knowledge regarding the necessary developments in the energy sector.
