Dominican Republic’s Arajet airline becomes member of ALTA

The Arajet airline, based in the Dominican Republic, made its way to the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association, also called ALTA. The information about the airline becoming a new member of the organisation was shared by the officials.
The Arajet airline is a young player in the aviation industry, which was founded in the Dominican Republic on 15 September 2022. Arajet is an ultra-budget-friendly airline that started its venture with its first flight to Barranquilla, Colombia.
The officials of the airline mentioned that their vision is to democratise the skies of the Caribbean for which they are offering accessible fares for everyone. They are taking steps with their venture to add new air routes in order to connect the region better.
ALTA is a non-profit association that is dedicated to developing and contributing to the air service sector of Latin America and the Caribbean. The focus of the association is to promote safety, cost-effectiveness, profitability, and sustainability in the industry.
The Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of ALTA, José Ricardo Botelho, shared his words and said, “We are pleased to welcome Arajet to ALTA. Its focus on democratising air transport and its commitment to sustainability is an example of what this sector can provide to Latin America and the Caribbean.”
He added, “This region does not have other equally efficient and safe means of transport. It benefits job creation and opportunities for millions of people every time a plane lands at an airport in our region. We are sure that Arajet’s participation will be key to continuing to drive growth and connectivity in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The Boeing 737-MAX jets in the fleet of Arajet airlines are not just giving service to the passengers but also assisting in bringing sustainability to the industry. In comparison to single-aisle aircraft, these jets are helping in the reduction of fuel consumption by fifty per cent and fuel consumption by fourteen per cent.
The Arajet airline is dedicated to its commitment to increasing efficiency and sustainability in its operation while following the vision of the industry and the region. The Chief Executive Officer and founder of Arajet, Víctor Pacheco, also shared his words.

The airline, operating from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, served passengers to more than sixteen nations in the region during its two years in the industry. Arajet operated in more than twenty-three destinations, and for its services, the airline was named as the best new airline in the world at CAPA 2023.
After becoming a member of ALTA and part of the fifty airlines and one twenty-four industry partners, Arajet expressed its commitment to expanding its venture. The airline is looking to assist more destinations with its budget-friendly services and working in collaboration with the other members.
