Castries, Saint Lucia: The tourism authority of Saint Lucia successfully hosted “Saint Lucia Inspires Antigua” dinner which brought over several stakeholders, travel advisors, Antigua and Barbuda tourism authority, members of Sunrise Airways, members of the diaspora and the media. The attendees held significant discussions on enhancing and strengthening the relations between Saint Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda.
During the meeting, the tourism authorities emphasised on the significance of regional cooperation and the potential of mutual growth in the tourism sector of the Caribbean nation. The event featured presentations on the unique and vibrant travel offerings of Saint Lucia, infrastructure developments and healthy discussions between representatives of both the island nations for enhancing connectivity between them.
Moreover, all the participants of the event expressed enthusiasm about the initiative and shed light on the benefits of such engagements in fostering cultural exchange and boosting regional tourism. The event was overall a vibrant discussion, networking and a shared commitment of both the nations towards promoting stronger tourism relations between both the islands.
Notably, during the meeting, the representatives of both the islands also planned familiarization trips for key stakeholders in the near future with a vision to enhance connectivity and promote collaboration among both the nations.
Such meetings also reflect the unwavering commitment and dedication of the tourism authorities of both the nations towards elevating their respective countries to greater heights. For the same, they have been making continuous plans and policies in order to promote sustainability among the nations.
Recently, Saint Lucia and Antigua launched a joint program with the motive of promoting greater financial inclusion for the most underserved groups. This program will play a huge role in leading the nation toward sustainable development. Also, the program will help in bridging the financial gaps of under-served groups, giving an opportunity to marginalized communities to enjoy and exercise their rights.
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre also recently visited Antigua and Barbuda for the 4th International Conference of Small Island Developing States. PM Pierre appreciated the determination and focus of Gaston Browne, the PM of Antigua and Barbuda for successfully hosting the conference.
