Jamaica is facing an unprecedented threat as two schools in Clarendon and one in St Catherine have seen students and staff getting evacuated due to bomb threats. All three educational institutions have been cleared to ensure the safety of the children as well as education professionals.
The schools in Clarendon are Denbigh High and Lennon High. Greater Portmore High in St Catherine has also been threatened.
The reports from Clarendon have been confirmed by a senior police officer who works with the Clarendon Police Department. The threat to Greater Portmore High in St Catherine has been confirmed by a staff member. Currently, no new updates have been furnished by the police.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the cases and are expected to make a statement once the threat has been resolved or neutralized.
The situation has forced many citizens, especially parents in the area to question the safety of their children. Most citizens are waiting with bated breaths for the conclusion of the official investigation. It is important to gain clarity on the circumstances which led to such a grave threat against the children of Jamaica.
Police officials have requested citizens to remain calm and allow the police to investigate the matter thoroughly.
