Nassau: The second version of the ‘Ask the Doctors’ has now been postponed. The conference was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, at 8 pm, which was organised by the Ministry of Health and Wellness in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister’s Virtual Town Hall Meeting.
The meet was being held in order to clear the myths and doubts of the general public in relation to the COVID-19 virus, vaccines, health guidelines and symptoms. Although, the new date has not been yet announced by the Bahamas Ministry of Health and Wellness.
This live virtual conference is a part of a public education campaign called “Together Against COVID-19”. This meet is the consecutive second version of the first asks the doctors session.
COVID-19 statistics of the Bahamas:
The Caribbean island has recorded more than 32,282 confirmed cases of the contagious COVID-19 virus, whereas a total of 731 individuals have lost their lives to the deadliest viral disease.
In terms of the COVID-19 vaccination, there are a total of 160,505 individuals who have received their first dose of the COVID vaccines and hence are now partially inoculated, which counts for 40.8% of the island’s total population.
On the other hand, there are a total of 151,520 individuals who are now fully immunised against the novel coronavirus by taking their required number of the COVID-19 virus, which counts for 38.5% of the total population.
Meanwhile, a total of 18,037 persons are the ones who have taken their booster shots of the COVID-19 virus and count for around 4.6% of the population.
