St Lucia: Ministry of Tourism to review recommendations for Tourism Development Act
Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information has scheduled follow-up stakeholder discussions on the proposed legislation needed to facilitate the development of the tourism industry.

St Lucia: Following a series of consultations in March 2022 on the current provisions of the Tourism Incentives Act, Cap 15.30 of 1996, the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information has scheduled follow-up stakeholder discussions on the proposed legislation needed to facilitate the development of the tourism industry.
Guided by the recommendations made by stakeholders of the sectors of the industry, it is anticipated that the provisions under the new legislation will stimulate growth and provide a range of benefits which will allow for the advancement of these sectors along with the suppliers of the tourism value chain. The week-long discussions commence Monday 20th June at 9:00 am at the Entrepot Human Resource Development Centre with representatives of the Private Sector and sectors of the tourism industry.
Planned discussions with other relevant stakeholders will continue from Tuesday, 21st June 2022, to Friday, 24th June 2022, at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Centre from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The Ministry of Tourism anticipates that the key outcome of the consultation is to gain consensus on the proposed provisions of the new legislation, i.e. Tourism Development Act (TDA) and its eventual enactment scheduled for July 2022.
