St Kitts and Nevis unveils new apron and taxiways at RLB International Airport
The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority announced the completion of Aprons and Taxiways at Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw (RLB) International Airport. And, the grand unveiling of the same was held on December 20, 2023.

St Kitts and Nevis: The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority announced the completion of Aprons and Taxiways at Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw (RLB) International Airport. And, the grand unveiling of the same was held on December 20, 2023.
The aim of this project is to improve the operational efficiency and security at the RLB International Airport. Also, it aims at ensuring a smooth experience for the airlines and the passengers.
Considerably, the Prime Minister, Terrance Drew revealed his presence at the ceremony and extended heartfelt pleasure on this progress
Probing ahead, Marsha Henderson- Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and International Transport addressed at the ceremony and added that infrastructural development plays a vital role in cultivating a thriving tourism industry. And, such progress made an addition to the infrastructural development.
She also extended her thanks towards the airport management as their commitment and dedication towards the project made its completion possible six days prior to the schedule it was planned.
On this, she even presented the facts about the 20 years back operational challenges and restrictions for the aircraft. She added that it weighed over 50,000 pounds. Importantly, the project commenced its resurfacing on November 16, 2023.
Moreover, the project involved major work to ensure the Apron’s longevity and reliability. This included the removal of existing surfaces and sealing cracks. Also, she highlighted that all the temporary works at the Apron will be replaced by the new and permanent ones by the coming month, January 2024.
In her address, she even stated that the project serves as a symbol of progress and it opens the doors to a brighter future by the development of the country by every means.
“May this serve as a reminder of great things that can be achieved through collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for growth – one that my team and I will continue to prioritize,” said the Minister Marsha Henderson.
