St Kitts and Nevis to celebrate 50 years of cooperation, integration and development in CARICOM
St Kitts and Nevis is all set to commemorate 50 years of St. Kitts and Nevis being a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis is all set to commemorate 50 years of St. Kitts and Nevis being a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew extended invitation to all the citizens to take active participation in the activities to celebrate the cooperation, integration and development in a vibrant Caribbean community.
St Kitts and Nevis joined CARICOM on 26th July 1974 with a vision to promote and support a unified Caribbean Community that is inclusive, resilient, competitive; sharing in economic, social and cultural prosperity. The week of activities will begin on Thursday, 25th August 2024 with a Thanksgiving Service at 6:00 pm.
It is a faith-based celebration for the shared blessing of St Kitts and Nevis and faiths include, Baha’i, Christians, Coptic-Orthodox, Hindu, Islam and Rastafari. The authorities of St Kitts and Nevis extended invitation to all the citizens to celebrate the vibrant community through a worship which will held at Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium.
Following the day, on 26th July, St Kitts and Nevis will celebrate the completion of its 50 years in CARICOM through celebrating Colours Day. For the same, the attendees have been asked to unite and wear the vibrant colours of the Caribbean and immerse themselves in the long celebration of cooperation, integration and development of the Caribbean community.
The final day of the celebration will include the CARICOM Experience that will be celebrated on 27th July at Independence Square. The attendees will be offered with plethora of experiences as Caribbean food, craft and live cultural presentations showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the St Kitts and Nevis and other Caribbean region.
PM Terrance Drew stated that CARICOM symbolises their strength, heritage and the unwavering commitment to progress. Therefore, he asked all his countrymen to join the nation in celebrating 50 years of St Kitts and Nevis in CARICOM.
