St Kitts and Nevis: The daily toll of active COVID-19 cases in St Kitts and Nevis is witnessing a mild surge, the Ministry of Health and Wellness noted. A total of three (3) new COVID-19 cases have been recorded by the healthcare facilities on March 17, 2022 (Thursday).
While a total of one (1) COVID-19 patients recovered from the contagious virus in the past 24 hours. The data has been shared by the health ministry in its daily COVID-19 update report, which further highlights that with the arrival of these additional cases, the total count of active novel coronavirus infections has risen to five (5) in the twin-island Federation.
St Kitts currently possesses three (3) active cases of the COVID-19 virus and Nevis two (2), according to the data shared by health ministry in its report.
As of March 17, 2022, the death rate of St Kitts and Nevis remains at 42, of which a total of 35 deaths have been recorded in St Kitts and the remaining seven (7) individuals who died to belong to the Nevis island.
The data of the report further notes that since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in the twin-island Federation, a total of 5,544 confirmed cases of the viral disease have been reported. Out of this confirmed cases toll, St Kitts recorded 4,704 cases of the COVID-19, and Nevis has an 840 confirmed infection rate.
The recovery rate in St Kitts and Nevis at present stands at 5,497, of which a total of 4,666 individuals recovered from the deadliest mutant in St Kitts, whereas a total of 831 COVID-19 patients recovered hale from Nevis island.
The health ministry has also asked the general public to abide by the COVID-19 health protocols such as – wearing masks, frequently sanitizing, maintaining a referred physical distance at the public places, and avoiding unnecessary gatherings.
