Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Three cruise ships docked on the shores of Port Zante of St Kitts and Nevis and graced the beauty of the island nation with its presence on 27th February 2024. The passengers disembarked to explore the beautiful sceneries, beaches and people of St Kitts and Nevis. 

Minister for Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas extended gratitude to the Tourism Ministry of St Kitts and Nevis and Minister Marsha Henderson for taking crucial steps and elevating the tourism sector to greater heights.

The cruise ships welcomed on the island include the World’s Largest Cruise Ship, Icon of the Seas, AIDA Luna and Marella Discovery.

“Three Cruise graced our beautiful shores today… Icon of the Seas, the World’s Largest Cruise Ship, AIDA Luna and Marella Discovery… A well sought after destination…. Thanks to all in the Ministry of Tourism and Minister Marsha,” mentioned Minister Douglas.

Notably, Icon of the Seas made its encore visit to the shores of St Kitts and Nevis and welcomed many new passengers to experience and travel the island nation. The World’s largest cruise ship made its inaugural call on 30th January 2024 bringing over 5,000 passengers.

While extending welcome to the Royal Caribbean, Minister Denzil Douglas stated that the “Icon of the Seas Cruise has graced our beautiful shores again… St. Kitts Nevis, Two Islands, One Paradise. Beautiful Sceneries, Beautiful Beaches and Beautiful People.”

The frequent visits of the cruise ships to the ports of the island nation signify the tiring efforts of the tourism authority in boosting the sector and generating huge amounts of revenues, leading to the growth and development of the nation.

The two-island nation is considered as a perfect honeymoon destination and with the arrival of the cruise ships, the nation will see a surge in the economic conditions of the country.

Along with that, the cruises also open doors to several opportunities for all the local businesses and citizens.

Various residents of the community also took to their social media accounts and expressed their excitement on the arrival of the cruises.

One person commented “Great efforts by the tourism ministry to generate income and revenues.”

Another person wrote, “Wow, it is so beautiful, looking to explore this once.”
