Sashelle Alves crowned Grenada’s Queen Pageant, showcases vibrant culture

Grenada: Sashelle Alves, Miss Carriacou & Petite Martinique crowned as the National Queen Pageant 2024. Her beauty, intelligence, and confidence shone brightly from the start which resulted in claiming her the crown for the Pageant.

This event is a part of the Spicemas Corporation 2024 that celebrates the vibrant culture and traditions of the island nation.

The National Queen Pageant is the stage where young women of Grenada compete for the title of the Carnival queen and showcase their talent, charm and elegance. A total of 7 contestants representing their parish, compete in various categories to win the crown and title of National Queen Pageant.

Sashelle Alves defeated 6 other titles to claim the title of National Queen Pageant 2024. Her entire performance was highly appreciated by all the judges and audiences as she reflected a perfect blend of beauty with brains and answered all the questions with utmost grace and dignity.

The contestants that participated in the pageant includes, Abigail Jeffrey from St George; Alorna Felix from St. Mark; Heidi Charles from St. David; Sashelle Alves from Carriacou & Petite Martinique; Angel Franklyn from St.Patrick, Kenya Alexander from St. Andrew and Abeni Matthew from St. John.

Alves did not only win the crown but was honoured with four other awards including, Best Pre-Interview Award, Best Evening Wear Award, Best In Evening Wear Award and Best Interview Award. She defeated six other contestants to become the Grenada’s Queen Pageant, she was followed by Kenya Alexander of St. Andrew and Heidi Charles of St. David who claimed the second and third position respectively.

Moreover, the other contestants also claim the tags such as Heidi Charles claimed three tags namely, Miss Congeniality award, Best Swimwear Award and Best In Swimwear Award. Meanwhile, Abigail Jeffrey became the Miss Photogenic and Kenya Alexander received Best Costume Award and Best In Costume award.

Following Alves victory, the Member of Parliament and Minister for Carriacou, Tevin Andrews extended congratulations to her for winning the pageant. He stated that her victory is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of Alves towards fulfilling her goals. He further continued to say that her victory is also a source of inspiration for several young girls who aspires to represent their nation on an international platform.

While shedding light on the tough challenges faced by their nation, he stated that Alves still remained adamant to her passion and represented their island with utmost confidence, grace and dignity. He further extended best wishes to her for her future endeavours.
