Two Antigua and Barbuda’s culinary stars and chef, Ronald Wilson and Jean-Pierre Tuitt are all set to represent the island nation at the 10th Annual Nevis Mango Festival.

Antigua and Barbuda: Two Antigua and Barbuda’s culinary stars and chef, Ronald Wilson and Jean-Pierre Tuitt are all set to represent the island nation at the 10th Annual Nevis Mango Festival. The festival will run for 4 days effective from July 4 is a vibrant celebration of the beloved fruit of Nevis, Mango.

This is a great opportunity for the chefs of Antigua and Barbuda to promote their offerings and showcase the best culinary experiences offered by the island nation. The chefs will get a platform to show their versatility and talent by infusing mangoes into every dish. The Chef Ronald Wilson will be leading the team as Head Chef and on the other hand, Chef Jean-Pierre Tuitt will function as Sous Chef for the competition.

Chef Wilson was the recipient of the title, Chef of the Year 2023 at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Awards Gala. He is also the Head Chef at Blue Waters Hotel which is one of the leading hotels of the island nation. Meanwhile, Chef Jean Pierre Tuitt earned the distinction of Young Chef of the Year 2023. He was awarded with the title at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Awards Gala. He is also the Junior Sous Chef at Jumby Bay Island Resort.

The chefs will be working under the expert guidance of Chef Olvanah Richardson-Burnette, Executive Sous Chef at Blue Waters Resort & Spa and Jesse Thomas, Director of Agri-Tourism at Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment who has been preparing the chefs diligently for this competition.

The CEO of Antigua and Barbuda, Colin James expressed his excitement about the competition and stated that they are all set to showcase Antigua and Barbuda through their culinary arts and skills. He further remarked that they love mangoes and they are a part of their culture. He remarked that he is looking forward to seeing the dishes which will be produced by their chefs.

Notably, the culinary showdown will take place on Sunday, 7th July 2024 with plant-based round in which chefs will be asked to create a mango dish with plantain, avocado, and beet in time period of just 30 minutes. It will be followed by Mystery Basket round which is a surprise challenge with mango as their star ingredient in time span of 45 minutes.
