Saint Lucia Kings maintain winning streak with powerful knock of Johnson Charles
The openers of the Saint Lucia Kings came out with an aggressive intent and gave a massive start to the team.

Saint Lucia Kings is continuing to maintain their streak, winning yet another game at CPL 2024 by defeating Trinbago Knight Riders by a huge margin of 80 runs. Johnson Charles once again shone in the match with his effortless batting which helped Kings in solidifying their dominance at the top of the points table.
The match was played at the Brian Lara Stadium where they delivered an exceptional performance with both bat and the ball, as they cruised to a one-sided win. The match was begun with the Riders winning the toss and decided to bowl first.
However, the decision backfired them as the openers of the Saint Lucia Kings came out with an aggressive intent and gave a massive start to the team. The opening duo was exceptionally dangerous with their bat and kept the bowlers under constant pressure.
Both Faf and Charles shared a massive 145 runs partnership in just 12.4 overs. Faf du Plessis played a knock of 59 runs in 43 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 4 fours playing the exceptional knock with a strike rate of 137.21. Meanwhile, Charles seems to have reach an almighty form, rendering all the strategies and plans for the opponent bowlers useless.
While, he was at the batting end, no inch of the field seemed to have been left untouched by his 360 performances. He smashed an impressive 89 runs off 40 deliveries, playing the knock in a strike rate of 222.50.
After the fall of the openers, the Saint Lucia Kings lost a few quick wickets but still they managed to post a remarkable total of 218 runs with the loss of 6 wickets. Also, when every other bowler was struggling to get a breakthrough, the skipper Keiron Pollard came out as a saviour for the team, taking 4 wickets with an economy rate of 9.50.
Also, when the Trinbago Knight Riders came for bat, their chase got off to a disastrous start as they lost early wickets. Every other batter failed to showcase their skills other than Jason Roy who showed some resistance and played the knock of 41 runs in 29 balls.
The bowlers of Saint Lucia Kings again outshined as they throughout kept the momentum to their side. They all contributed equally well where each bowler got at least 1 wicket to their name, finishing off the Riders innings limiting them to 138 runs with all wickets down in just 17.5 overs.
Johnson Charles who was declared the Player of the Match award stated that they had a very long session of planning coming to this game and all the players really stuck to their plans. He added that it was really delightful to be a part of this partnership.
He asserted that now each player of Saint Lucia Kings has only one motto and that is to come out as champions and give it back to the fans.
