Saint Lucia: Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire welcomes Norwegian Encore to Port Castries

Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Ernest Hilaire shared a glimpse of the inaugural call of Norwegian Encore to Port Castries. According to the update shared by Tourism Minister Hilaire, it was the first visit of the ship to the country.

The country welcomed around 4,000 guests with 1,735 crew members. The social media post by Deputy Prime Minister informed, “Today Saint Lucia welcomed the Norwegian Encore to Port Castries for the first time. The ship, which debuted in November 2019, has a capacity of 3,998 guests with 1,735 crew.”

Furthermore, he expressed that it is always his pleasure to have these inaugural calls to the shores of Saint Lucia as it shows the courage the cruise companies have in the beautiful island home of Ernest Hilaire.

While welcoming the cruise ship, he stated, “Welcome to Saint Lucia, The Helen of the West!”

Earlier, on December 27 (Tuesday), Saint Lucia welcomed two cruises at Port Castries. The two cruises – Zaandam of the Holland America Line and Coasta Fascinosa brought thousands of guests to the beautiful country of Saint Lucia. Both cruise ships received a warm welcome and participated in the plaque exchange ceremonies. On that day, 3000 guests came to the country.
