Royal Caribbean Group comes together with Wärtsilä to optimize their cruises and services to be more reliable and efficient. Both companies signed a lifecycle agreement covering thirty-seven of the cruise ships in order to accelerate sustainability goals.
The age of the agreement agreed upon by both identities is five years. During the assigned tenure, Wärtsilä will help in the improvement of the crise’s engines. The goal of the merger is to attain the highest level of operational efficiency to keep leading in the sector.
The agreement between the two companies is seen as a significant collaboration that could bring benchmark results in the coming times. The intention of the companies is also to set a benchmark for decarbonization standards along with sustainability in the cruise industry.
Royal Caribbean Group, as known, is a big name in the cruising industry, whereas Wärtsilä holds expertise in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions. Wärtsilä is one of the leading names in the sector around the globe that is serving in the marine and energy markets.

The approach of the companies under this collaboration is to align with the mutual efforts of the Caribbean nation to achieve the target of net-zero emissions. Royal Caribbean Group is also looking for the use of the right technological solutions that could help to make their cruising operation eco-friendly.
The framework under which both companies agreed upon the agreement is designed in a way that could also focus on unplanned maintenance and costly downtime. Wärtsilä will work to decrease the risk factors while improving the performance of the cruise ships in the direction of achieving the goal.
The officials disclosed their expectation from Wärtsilä to allow the cruises to perform optimally along with reducing emissions and saving fuel consumption. Wärtsilä’s experts shared their insight over the agreement and disclosed that cruises will be added with latest tech and AI to serve visitors better.
