Rhema Otabor from Bahamas sets new NCAA record in javelin throw, wins for second year in row

Bahamas: Bahamas star athlete “Rhema Otabor” has once again created a significant milestone and sets a new NCAA record in the Javelin with a massive throw of 64.19m on Thursday, 8th June 2024 at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

The insane throw of 210-7 (64.19m) by Rhema Otabor on her fifth javelin attempt has helped her in securing her second straight NCAA title and a collegiate record. She has met a new National record and is also an Olympic qualifying throw as well.

Such accomplishment is a testament to her unwavering commitment and dedication to excellence in her field. Following her exceptional victory, Rhema Otabor of Nebraska reacted to her achievement of becoming the collegiate record holder and the fifth-best thrower in the world.

She stated that “I don’t really have words for this experience. Even when the javelin landed, I was so happy that it went over 60m and when I saw the distance, I freaked out, I don’t know the last time I freaked out for throw like that in a long time.”

Rhema Otabor further added that this achievement is a moment to cherish for a lifetime. She asserted that she is still in awe of the fact that she is not only the greatest collegiate women’s javelin thrower of all time, but also the greatest Bohemian women’s javelin thrower.

From Nassau, Bahamas, Rhema Otabor is the first Husker to win back-to-back titles since 2003-2004. Her victory has received garnered attention from all her fans and athlete lovers. As, they took to their social media accounts and extended congratulations to the athlete for claiming the title for the second consecutive year.
