Jammu and Kashmir, India: Naik Qayoom, a 23-year-old inventor from Anantnag, has created a fully automated seed-sowing machine in an effort to promote farming technology.
In addition to being a national innovator, Kreeri village resident Naik Qayoom is a source of inspiration for young people interested in invention.
In Kashmir, there were few technological advancements in the agriculture field; instead, people continued to use old-fashioned techniques. I made the decision to work on agricultural innovations as a result, and I was successful in developing an automated seed-sowing machine that Punjab University and NIT Srinagar chose for presentation at the national level,” he said.
Qayoom’s project was accomplished after two years of effort, and it is anticipated to help farmers by increasing productivity through line sowing. The device has the ability to plant any seed and can also be used to spread fertiliser. It can drop seeds in both lines and points with seed control.
According to Qayoom, “Director Industries under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) launched the project in 2022.”
“I want the administration to help me set up a manufacturing unit as the orders for the machine have already begun to pour in so that we can start large-scale production to help the farmer community,” he continued. “With three-in-one technology, there are three models with prices ranging from INR 15,000 to INR 30,000,” as per him.
For his agricultural initiatives, Qayoom has received numerous accolades at the state and national levels. In addition to his own numerous ideas, he has been assisting other inventors in commercialising their creations.
In addition, Qayoom is engaged in numerous additional initiatives to support local farmers.
