President of Haiti, Jovenel Moise, stated, More than 70 years after the Peligre construction site, another large-scale hydroelectric project, built across the Marion River. This dam will facilitate energy production and storage of water for consumption and irrigation. He owes it to the Northeast Department.
What is the hydroelectric project?
The most basic kind of hydroelectric power plant is an impoundment plant. An impoundment plant, typically a large hydropower system, utilizes a dam to store river water in a reservoir. Water discharged from the reservoir flows within a turbine, spinning it, which in turn activates a generator to generate electricity.
