President Dr Irfaan Ali received a courtesy visit from the President of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), Justice Adrian Saunders.

Guyana: President Dr Irfaan Ali received a courtesy visit from the President of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), Justice Adrian Saunders, on Thursday afternoon (April 7, 2022) at the Office of the President on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive.
Several senior members of the Government, including Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips; Vice President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo and Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Anil Nandlall, also attended the meeting.
As per the government source, Justice Saunders is in Guyana for three days and is expected to attend the Guyana Bar Association’s 2022 Law Week of Activities.
Earlier, President Ali received a courtesy visit from the President of the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC), Guyanese-born Dr Colwick Wilson and his team at the Office of the President.

USC is a Seventh-day Adventist university headquartered in Trinidad with a campus in Queenstown, Georgetown.
The meeting focused on collaborative ways to enhance the function of the university locally, especially concerning programmes and opportunities.
Vice President for Student Services and Enrolment Management Pastor Onesi La Fleur; President of the Guyana Conference of Seven Days Adventist Pastor Exton Clarke; Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship Dr Sherri-Lynn Legall and recent graduate of USC Trea Johnson were also part of the meeting.
On April 7, 2022 (Thursday), President Ali presented the Outstanding Cambridge Learners Award to School of the Nations’ sixth-form student John McGrath, who is the World’s Top Student at the Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) English Language Examination (2021) after securing 99 marks out of 100.
McGrath’s results were better than those of more than one million students from 136 countries. He is also the first Guyanese to top a Cambridge AS examination.

President Ali has also invited people of all religions to celebrate “National Fasting Day 2022” on April 18, 2022, at 3:30 PM.
