Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Despite being on a family vacation, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew took time off his busy schedule and spoke to Development Bank St Kitts and Nevis (DBSKN) St. Peter’s Football Club to wish them success for their game.
The leader of the nation is on a personal leave and in his absence, Dr Geoffrey Hanley has been acting as the Prime Minister. However, PM Drew still took out the time to speak with DBSKN St. Peter’s FC via zoom and wish them best for their game.
Notably, the final match for the 2024 SKNFA National Bank Group of Companies Premier League Cup has begun between S.L. Horsfords St. Paul’s United and Development Bank St. Peters Football Club. The first game was scheduled to held at Warner Park Stadium on August 11, that was won by S.L. Horsfords St. Paul’s United by 3-0. The next two games will be played on Wednesday, 14th August and Sunday, 18th August respectively at Warner Park Stadium.
For the same, the Prime Minister extended them best wishes and urged all the citizens to go out and attend the games and give their full support to the players of Development Bank St Kitts and Nevis (DBSKN) St. Peter’s Football Club. Along with that, he also motivated all the players to be their best on and off the field and give their 100% to win the finals.
The Development Bank St. Kitts & Nevis and the St. Peters Football Club also signed a significant partnership in March 2024 which was announced by PM Terrance Drew. While announcing the collaboration between them, the leader of the nation expressed delight and stated that it will play a huge role in providing vital support and resources to the club.
He stated that it is a great platform for the club to nurture talent, provide mentorship, and create opportunities for the young and ambitious athletes and elevate the sports sector of St Kitts and Nevis to greater heights.
During the signing of the partnership agreement, the Development Bank of St Kitts and Nevis had also granted a cheque of $30,000 to St Peter’s Football Club as an initial investment with a vision to strengthen their collaboration.
While shedding light on the Development Bank, PM Drew stated that it has consistently stood as a huge support for sporting development and community enhancement initiatives. The Prime Minister continued to say that, the developmental bank has always been at the forefront to fostering sporting talent and uplifting communities.
He added that they have set a standard of excellence that is truly commendable for the sports sector of the nation. While lauding the commitment of the DBSKN, the PM stated that it extends beyond mere sponsorship; it embodies a genuine investment that will play a huge role in turning aspirations of several dreamers into reality.
