PM Terrance Drew engages with students from Columbia University

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew participated in an engaging dialogue with the students from Columbia University at the 79th United Nations General Assembly, hosted by UNAIDS. He had a productive discussion with the students and gained insight into the various approaches that can be undertaken by the leaders of the Caribbean nations for the development of Small Island Developing States.
While sharing the glimpses of this interaction, PM Drew stated that this marks the second year that they have met with students from the University each time has been enriching. This exchange of significant dialogues between PM Terrance Drew and the students was conducted in the form of an interview.
During that interview Prime Minister shared his experience and held discussions on several topics such as health, sustainability, regional cooperation, and personal leadership. This interview was conducted in front of a live audience of Columbia University students and affiliates.
Along with that, the Prime Minister Terrance Drew also joined a distinguished panel of speakers at a high-level side event which was hosted by UNAIDS.
This event was focused on the theme “Revitalised Multilateralism: Recommitting to Ending AIDS Together.”
During his address, PM Terrance Drew issued a passionate call for revitalised multilateral cooperation to take stringent measures with a vision to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
“We have seen many positive benefits through the collaborative global efforts, however, it is not the right time to take feet off the pedal,” noted PM Terrance Drew.
The Prime Minister stated that the world must continue their efforts in uniting together and show their strength and solidarity in their fight against HIV/AIDS. He also shed light on the preventive measures and urged the citizens to follow all those precautions in order to curb the cases of HIV/AIDS.
Moreover, PM Drew also highlighted the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in St Kitts and Nevis. And, for the same, he lauded and extended gratitude to the healthcare workers, stakeholders and the regional partners who have always worked hard towards achieving the most notable result.
The Prime Minister, Terrance Drew has been actively participating at the United Nations General Assembly, New York and is meeting with various delegates and exchanging significant dialogues in order to enhance the development of Small Island Developing States.
The Prime Minister has been highlighting several concerns being faced by SIDS and is making the proper utilization of the platform to demand help from the developing nations to extend their help to small nations in overcoming those challenges.
