PM Terrance Drew congratulates Saint Lucians on marking 45 years of Independence
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew extended congratulations to the citizens of Saint Lucia on completing its 45th year of Independence.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew extended congratulations to the citizens of Saint Lucia on completing its 45th year of Independence. It is to be noted that Saint Lucia achieved its full independence on 22nd February 1979.
Moreover, while extending congratulations, PM Drew also shed light on the theme under which Saint Lucia is celebrating its 45th anniversary of independence. PM Drew stated “I extend heartfelt congratulations to our friends and neighbours in St. Lucia as you celebrate your Independence Day under the theme “Douvan Ansanm: Building a Nation through Unity, Resilience, and Creativity.”
PM Terrance Drew extended all the best wishes to the island nation so that the country continues to grow and sustainably develop. He also wished all his neighbours the spirit to overcome all the hardships that come their way for success and growth.
“Today, we stand in solidarity to celebrate the achievements and aspirations of St. Lucia. May the spirit of unity continue to strengthen your nation, may resilience guide you through challenges, and may creativity inspire innovation and growth,” mentioned PM Terrance Drew.
Furthermore, Minister for Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas also wished the people of the island nation on their 45th anniversary of Independence.
“To the Government and People of St. Lucia, happy 45th Independence Anniversary and may our islands and people remain connected as true Caribbean brothers and sisters,” wrote Minister Douglas.
Moreover, Saint Lucia started its Day of Independence with a Military Parade at the Soufrière Mini Stadium. All the contingents comprised all Saint Lucian soldiers who participated in the Independence Military Parade and displayed the unique and vibrant culture and tradition of the country.

While acknowledging the parade, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Phillip J Pierre also extended congratulations to all the participants of the parade. He said “Congratulations to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and Uniformed Groups for putting on such a spectacular display. The Military Parade is a crowd favourite at Independence, and I was truly honoured to be a part of the experience. Happy 45th Independence Anniversary Saint Lucia.”
The activities of Independence Day will be followed by the Independence Celebratory rally, Independence Showcase and Seafood Fest which will offer all its attendees with the freshest catches and tempting seafood delicacies.
