PM Roosevelt Skerrit, CSG Patricia Scotland join other heads for CHOGM 2022 retreat

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit joined re-elected Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland and other Heads of the Government for the CHOGM 2022 Retreat on June 26, 2022 (Sunday).
It was a high-level closed-door meeting which witnessed discussion of the community’s priorities for next two years, which would be tenure served by CSG Patricia Scotland.
PM Skerrit took social media and expressed the joy, “I and newly re-elected Commonwealth Secretary General @PScotlandCSG, joined other Commonwealth Heads of Government for the #CHOGM2022 Retreat, a high-level closed-door meeting to decide the community’s priorities for the next two years.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Skerrit congratulated the CSG for re-electing. Scotland achieved a milestone by becoming the Commonwealth Secretary-General for second time.
He stated, “Congratulations to Dominica’s, the Rt. Hon Patricia Scotland QC, Commonwealth Secretary-General on her re-election to the post of Commonwealth Secretary General.”
Prime Minister Skerrit attended the CHOGM 2022, with the delegation of Dominica, in Kigali, Rwanda from June 20 to June 26, 2022.
CHOGM 2022 was attended by various Prime Ministers of the Caribbean region, including Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Jamaica – Andrew Holness, and Prime Minister of St Lucia – Philip J Pierre.

Patricia gained the position of Commonwealth Secretary-General in 2016 and served for nearly six years. It is no denying that under her supervision, the Commonwealth states were able to enhance several skills. Moreover, her bid to run for the position was supported by the Commonwealth member states.
