PM Pierre meets US Ambassador Roger Nyhus, highlights mutual projects & goals
PM Pierre discussed several topics with US Ambassador Roger Nyhus, on the issues of climate resilience, economic development and the security of its citizens.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre met H.E. Roger Nyhus, who is serving as the US Ambassador to the OECS and Barbados, on Thursday. The meeting laid emphasis on strengthening the relationship between Saint Lucia and the USA.
It is to be noted that PM Pierre discussed several topics as a matter of concern, with a particular focus on the issues of climate resilience, economic development and the security of its citizens.
Further, the leader of Saint Lucia took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to share a glimpse of the meeting.
“Saint Lucia and the United States of America continue to enjoy strong diplomatic relations. I welcomed H.E. Roger Nyhus, the US Ambassador to the OECS and Barbados, during a courtesy call where we affirmed our commitment to working together, particularly on issues of building climate resilience, citizen security and economic development. I look forward to strengthening our relationship for the benefit of the people”, added PM Pierre.
Notably, PM Pierre and US Ambassador Nyhus engage in the discussion on active cooperation agreements and explore opportunities for collaboration on additional areas of mutual interest.
The prime minister focuses on building resilience in the agriculture sector for livelihood security through enhanced adaptive capacities for climate change and climate variability.
Furthermore, the meeting is expected to have positive outcomes for both nations’ development. US Ambassador Nyhus extended support on behalf of his country to help Saint Lucia achieve its sustainability goal.
Moreover, Prime Minister Pierre has always been active in taking an interest in international summits or meetings, underscoring the need to maintain foreign relations for mutual growth and benefits.
Additionally, Saint Lucia has completed its Health National Adaptation Plan (H-NAP) in October 2023. The country has moved towards the development of a complete note to submit to the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
