Even after the deadly coronavirus pandemic, devices such as these will be critical for learning. Students using it for school work, to inform, and as a productive tool to solve problems will give the government the generational leap essential to become a knowledge economy.
The government of Jamaica and other authorities are utilizing this as an opportunity to assure that every Jamaican child (students) can partake in the digital age with a device.
People’s reaction:
Marcia Wynter commented, “My Prime Minister, l am so delighted at the job you are doing. The children need these devices to help them move forward. This distribution today will go a long way by assisting our students with their education.l know every school can’t get it at the same time, but they will get it. God bless and keep you, sir. Continue the progress.”
Vermaine Donavon commented, “This is an inefficient way of using scarce public resources. Tablets should be issued to the schools through the ministry of education and remain property of the MoE. They should be lent to students and not be given as gifts. The government should be legally bounded to provide all students with access to online classes.”
“First, I want to thank God for you and the work you’re doing. I’ve never made or speak to a politician before, but I must say a good job so for sir prime minister God is with you I can feel you are with God,” Muncie Murray added.
