Belize: Prime Minister of Belize Dr.Johnny Briceno pays his deepest condolences to ‘Warrior of COVID-19’ Dr. Baldomino Barboza.
Prime Minister of Belize Dr.Johnny Briceno stated, “People of Belize are deeply disheartened by the passing of the beloved Dr. Baldomino Barboza. He will be missed greatly, and his continuous service in the fight against this deadly virus, up to his final days, will be forever appreciated. Our prayers are with the Barboza family in this time of sorrow,” via his official account of Facebook.

Who was Dr. Dr. Baldomino Barboza?
Dr. Barboza was popular and loved amidst the whole medical community countrywide, particularly in Orange Walk, where he served for many years. Late last year, Dr. Barboza condensed COVID-19, and in early January, serious complexities awoke, heading to his death at the Belize Healthcare Partners Limited.
Dr. Barboza served as a general practitioner from 1981 to 1987 and continued on to concentrate on Internal Medicine in Costa Rica. Upon his recovery, he worked as the first internist in the northern region for 25 years. During this time, Dr. Barboza also held the post of District Medical Officer, a post he held up to his departure from the public sector. He went on to work at the Northern Medical Plaza, where he rested up to his death.
Dr. Barboza outlived as a member of the Belize Medical and Dental Association for several years. He was a dedicated and loved doctor who gave selflessly to his society and acknowledged the call as a frontline doctor during this deadly coronavirus pandemic.
On behalf of the Government of Belize, the management and staff of the Ministry of Health & Wellness extend deepest condolences to the loved ones of Dr. Baldomino Barboza.
