“Pleased to distribute house keys to 15 families,” says PM Harris during hand-over ceremony

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Timothy Harris distributed the house keys to around 15 families of the Mansion village during the hand-over ceremony on February 18.

While handing over the houses to the families of the Mansion village, Prime Minister said, “I am pleased to participate in the distribution of houses to 15 families who need them.”

He further said, “These petrocasas houses would provide a fresh start to the families in their lives, good future, and happier as well as beautiful houses.”

He congratulated the communities that reside in the region.

PM Harris also lauded the constructors and the project manager for adopting the latest technologies, as per the need of the Government of St Kitts and Nevis.

Later, the Prime Minister shared a glimpse of the ceremony on social media and wrote, “It was a proud moment for all as we handed over the keys to new homes.”

These fifteen houses have been added to the long list of houses provided to the individuals who have been empowered through homeownership in the last five years.

The keys were handed over to the families at the Mansion village at 4 pm, and all the required COVID-19 protocols were followed during the ceremony.

These petrocasas houses have been donated by the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to St Kitts and Nevis.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Human Settlement Eugene Hamilton shared the remark and Chargé d’ Affaires Ad Hoc of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Marco Antonio Guzmán Adrian, joined the ceremony virtually.

While addressing the residents of the Mansion village, Prime Minister Timothy Harris recalled the achievement of the government in the past seven years. He mentioned that Team Unity had provided as much as other government’s failure to provide in the past 40 years.

He stated, “I have honour or privilege, of course, courage to lead such a hardworking team”.

He added that the government has always worked in favour of people and always had a people-centric approach.

At last, he thanked the residents of St Kitts and Nevis.
