Pan in De City, Mas Dominik 2024 is set to echo Dominica’s streets with joyous rhythms

Roseau, Dominica: The opening of the year 2024 is expected to bring extreme joy in the region and the opening of Carnival on January 6, 2024 has become an epitome of the commencement of happiness. With this, the Dominica Festivals Committee introduces PAN IN DE CITY to spread the rhythms of steelpan in the region on January 20, 2024 (Saturday).

The Commonwealth of Dominica, Division of Culture presents the rhythm of steel pan with PAN IN DE CITY as the mark of Dominica’s most awaited carnival, Mas Dominik 2024. The celebrations under this will embark on the streets of Roseau from 10 am.

The steel pan has great significance in the Caribbean region and is considered as an iconic instrument in the whole Caribbean region. The concept of steelpan originally came from Trinidad (One of the countries in the Caribbean region).

And, in Dominica, the steelpan rhythms generally appear for church celebrations, government ceremonies, cultural exhibitions, and specifically on festivals, celebrations and occasions. Similarly, as part of the carnival, this will bring the echo of happiness and local heritage in the streets of Dominica.

Probing ahead, several of the events have already been announced till the month of February to which details have been provided on the official page of Dominica festivals committee. The local population will experience the complete blend of joy and culture throughout these festivities.

Moreover, for the month of January, almost 18 events have been scheduled for different dates starting from January , 2024 till January 31, 2024. With this, the complete month will have a lot to offer to the community and the Visitors.

From all the events, Jazz in the city Carnival edition is scheduled for five different dates in the months. That is for January 6,9,16, 23 and 30. This edition is aimed at promoting the talented of Dominicans under the #SUPPORTLOCAL.

With the opening of the ceremony, the chain for events for more than 40 days will take a magnificent start.
